Release Fear of Failure to Create
The fear of failure can arise when we have new ideas, relationships, or business ventures we would like to create that not only prevent us from potential success, but also from getting started! We can feel insecure when we think about what others think of us or how we go about doing things incorrectly in the eyes of others. Will our ideas be accepted by others? Can we be ourselves? Will they still love us? This insecurity that we feel inside ourselves often sabotages our chances for success when we allow our ego and identity to become who we are. Fear of failure will create an unhealthy relationship not only with yourself but with everyone else as well. Being confident by expressing your true authentic self and allowing your creative ideas to surface is optimum when manifesting something new, even if it does not work out the first time.
Where does our Fear of Failure come from?
Fear of failure can keep us from trying new ideas. It can also lead us to go against our morals. As children, we are programmed unconsciously by our parents, social settings, and other people that are in our lives up to the age of 6, and these patterns continue through adolescence and into adulthood.
If we have parents who have fear-based rules this can lead to feeling the need to ask permission, validation, and reassurance for our choices. Being successful is programmed into us from a very young age. Perfectionism also is extremely challenging, so much to the point that we just don’t even allow ourselves to try. We ask ourselves if we are good enough, smart enough, or educated enough. When we feel this way we want things to be perfect and cover up any imperfections. People who need to be perfect also can lack confidence and will avoid taking any risks.
For many success equals power. This is the basis of their lives. Everything they achieve adds to the power of their value. In school, if we failed at writing a paper and got a low score, well, we all knew the consequences of that! This is something that is taught and that we let in. Many students have what is known as “test anxiety”. Fear of failure becomes a horror story at this point.
Our subconscious has been programmed from a very early age from our parents, social surrounding, our environment, teachers, our clergy, and everyone who wanted us to be like them. There is no blame here, as these people are only doing what they were programmed to do. Our parents did the best they could for who they were. Other people can sense some sort of programming, hence, “my dad always told me to be careful and find a job that paid good money to be secure in life” instead of being an artist or actor, which was a true heart desire.
Truly confident people know they may not succeed every time, yet move forward and take the risks involved to create their dreams. The successful people that have unlearned the lesson around the fear of failure and understand that embracing a potential failure is part of getting what they want out of their lives. Are you ready to reprogram what no longer serves you?
How can we release programmed fear of failing and move forward with our true hearts desires?
