The colon has been referred to as the sewer system of the body. It is the place where we store solid waste material after food has been digested. Poor colon function will cause the accumulation of decaying solid waste. If the colon is neglected, the toxins in this waste are then absorbed throughout the tissues of the body. The colon also functions as the final place of absorption of Vitamins B and K, water and other nutrients. Detoxification of the cells throughout the body improves nutrient absorption, which strengthens the immune system and permits the other organs of elimination (skin, lungs, liver, and kidneys) to operate more effectively. A restored colon is essential to a healthy body and mind. In today’s fast paced world, refined foods, environmental toxins, and stress all increase the magnitude of our health challenges. In many ancient cultures, colon hydrotherapy was highly regarded as the seasonal deep cleansing.
During a session, the client is mostly clothed and lies on a custom treatment table in complete comfort and modesty. Your dignity is always maintained. At Returning Balance Therapies, our main goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment for you and your healing.
First, a small sterile and disposable speculum is gently inserted into the rectum. Then, two disposable lengths of tubing (one for purified water and one for the excretion of waste material) are connected to the speculum, allowing cycles of small amounts of purified water to flow into and out of the colon. This technique gently stimulates the colon’s natural peristaltic action to release softened, impacted waste. No chemicals or drugs are involved. A session lasts 45 to 60 minutes. Throughout the entire session, many clients find the treatment to be both relaxing and effective. Finally, the removal of impacted waste encourages better colon function and improved elimination, as well as restoring overall health and vitality.
1. Eat a small light meal 2 hours prior to your session. Digestion needs to be minimal to go deeper into purging fecal matter. This is so the body can fully concentrate on releasing.
2. Drink 20 ounces of water 1-2 hours prior to your session. When the 1-hour mark approaches, have your last bit of water to stay hydrated, though no more so the bladder will not be agitated while in session.
3. Think ahead. Plan the food you will be eating that day.
