The Workers’ Compensation Board is a state agency that processes claims.
All businesses with employees operating in Colorado are required to have workers’ compensation insurance, regardless of the number of employees, whether the employees only work part-time, or if they are members of the same family. Workers’ compensation insurance is purchased by an employer from an insurance agent, much like liability or auto insurance.
We accept and bill worker compensation and auto accident insurance. It is important to note that not all insurance companies cover massage therapy for injuries or accidents, so we recommend checking with your provider before seeking treatment. If you do have coverage, we are happy to assist you with the billing process and help you get the care you need to recover from your injury. We will just need your script and billing information to get it authorized . Our licensed massage therapists are experienced in working with patients who have been injured and can provide personalized treatment plans to help you heal and regain strength. No one wants to be injured and especially on the job when it prevents one from working.
In a workers’ compensation case, no one party is determined to be at fault. The amount that a claimant receives is not decreased by the claimant’s carelessness, nor increased by an employer’s fault. One may however lose the right to workers’ compensation if the injury is due to intoxication from drugs or alcohol, or if the person injured was from the intent to injure themselves or someone else.
A claim is paid if the employer or insurance carrier agrees that the injury or illness is work-related. If the employer or insurance carrier disputes the claim, no benefits are paid until the workers’ compensation law judge decides who is right. If a worker is not receiving benefits because the employer or insurance carrier is arguing that the injury is not job-related, that worker may be eligible for disability benefits in the meantime. Any payments made under the Disability Program, however, will be subtracted from future workers’ compensation awards.
If you can return to work but your injury prevents you from earning the same wages you once did, you may be entitled to a benefit that will make up two-thirds of the difference. You may also return to work in a light or alternate position before you are fully recovered and healed
